To enhance the knowledge and gain relevant work experience on the field of study, the US Immigration law allows each student to work for 12-18 months. However, beyond that stipulated period, your degree will not allow you to remain in US or to get a work permit regardless (Online Colleges).
For international students looking for an internship in America in can be very difficult to find and the easiest method by far is to be enrolled in an academic program that offers international internships. Without being enrolled in such a program you run the risk of not being able to be apart of the international business market. If you’re not enrolled in an academic program that offers international internships then your only other options would be to try contacting businesses yourself, check websites and of course utilize your contacts to the best of your ability. Even then you’ll run into Student Visa issues and this can cancel the entire internship completely. You need to have full student status in the States or a student visa but without either you won’t be aloud to come and get hands on international work experience in the USA.
